A week off
A week off, but not a switch off. It's hard not to keep an eye on the coalface and I did have one thing I had to finish while I'm off. To be honest I don't really mind. My friends at work are all so lovely. I don't know how I would have coped in lockdown without them. Although we do everything over Webex, just knowing that every day I'll have a chat or a meeting of some kind to keep me communicating and thinking, makes a big difference. When I'm on holiday I do miss them, and worry that everything's going OK without me (which of course it is).
In other news the sun is shining and yesterday after five long months of Veet hair removal cream I was finally able to get my legs waxed and some gels put on my toes. Painful but worth it (I wore a mask). Tomorrow I'm getting my hair done. 'Wash, cut and blow dry?' Asked the receptionist who called to book me in. Oh no, I'm going to need a lot more than that my friend....By my birthday on Friday I shall look as I used to and the Grizzle will be no more.
So far this morning I've done a 45 minute pump class, eaten a croissant (so much for the diet), written a video message script about partnerships for work, downed a black coffee and sent James out with Dolly. Hoping to head over to the Wellington Arms later on with James as a treat while William goes over to Taylor's for the day. James is also desperate to watch IT, but I'm re-reading it and it's seriously grim so I'm in two minds...chances are he'll wear me down with nagging, we'll watch it and I'll regret it.
Last but not least a new queen bee is on order as my lot have now had three attempts at making a new one and still have no brood showing. It's such a shame. I cannot understand why they're failing? Each time I check hoping maybe one has hatched and is just out on a maiden flight, but all they have is drone brood and a lot of very grumpy worker bees. The queen arrives next week so let's hope all goes to plan and we can get the hive functional again before it's too late.
