WEEK 11
A bit of a gap since my last post. In the interim life has changed beyond all recognition with Mummy passing away very, very suddenly from liver failure. I'm not going to dwell on what happened, the loss is too huge and too incomprehensible to articulate.
Last Thursday we went for our dating scan and the baby is fine. Such a relief. I don't think I will ever be able to relax during a scan again, we are always on tenterhooks. It looks very tiny, but its heart is pumping away and it looked like a little jumping bean.
Our next scan is the nuchal on Saturday morning, I can't believe that by then it will look like a 'proper' baby. Fingers crossed all is well.
We are so thrilled to be expecting a second child, for the past few weeks it's hardly seemed real and the exhaustion and worry on top of everything else has been almost too much to bear. But finally I feel that we're coming out of the dark, we're able to share the news with our friends and look forward to something amazing in our lives.
I know Mummy would be so happy, I did tell her in hospital and am sure that she heard and knew that she was going to be a Granny again.
